The Indigenous Food Sovereignty Association (IFSA) aims to establish and grow an Indigenous-led network of Indigenous food sovereignty leaders, organizations and food producers across BC and Canada with a focus on these primary objectives:
Create a grassroots, Indigenous-led network of Indigenous food sovereignty advocates and food producers
Provide capacity building and leadership training for Indigenous project coordinators and community leaders to engage and lead Indigenous Food Sovereignty projects in their communities
Work with government and industries around policy shifts to even the playing field for Indigenous peoples, making room for reconciliation and equity work
Develop an Indigenous funding foundation that focuses on getting support out to projects and initiatives at different levels
Develop an Indigenous co-operative-type funding, financing, and material support for Indigenous food sovereignty projects and initiatives
